Murphy and his wife Carrie of Hingham; Paul J. Murphy and his wife Kirsten of Bridgewater and Kenneth J. Murphy and his wife Eleanor of Carver. Cherished grandmother of thirteen. Sister of Edward, Richard and Walter Noone all of Brockton; Robert Noone of Rockland; Lawrence Noone of Wareham; Linda Noone of Newton and the late Thomas and Kenneth Noone. Sister-in-law of Ellen (Murphy) McCarthy of Stoughton.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, Brockton at 10 am. Burial in Milton Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm. Obituary

Marjorie E. “Marge” (Noone) Murphy of Brockton died Friday evening surrounded by her family at her home following a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was the wife for 51 years of the late John H. “Jack” Murphy. Mrs. Murphy was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Powers) Noone and had been a resident of Brockton for most of her life.
Mrs. Murphy graduated from Brockton High School with perfect attendance and had been a member of the high school golf team and girls’ basketball team. She also was a graduate of Simmons College in Boston. Upon her graduation she began her career as a medical secretary and bookkeeper. She put her career on hold to raise her large family which was her most important and treasured role. In later years she resumed her medical career in the Brockton area. In 2000 she retired from the office of Dr. Robert Baler-Brockton Dermatologist after nearly 20 years of service.
With her late husband, Jack, Mrs. Murphy enjoyed numerous trips to Bermuda, Ireland and throughout the United States. But her favorite spot was Swift’s Beach in Wareham where she met her husband and brought her children.
Mrs. Murphy’s hobbies included swimming, playing the piano, crossword puzzles, reading, keeping up with current events and researching family genealogy. Her focus on her family remained paramount throughout her life and was highlighted by the joy her grandchildren brought her. In her husband’s later years she dedicated herself to his care and well being.
Mrs. Murphy was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick Church where she was a volunteer for many committees and activities. In her earlier years Mrs. Murphy was an active communicant of Our Lady of Rosary Church in Stoughton.
She is survived by two daughters and five sons: Susan E. Flynn of Bel Air, MD; Dr. John M. Murphy of Easton; Barbara A.Murphy of Arlington, VA; Richard F. Murphy of Bridgewater; James P. Murphy of Hingham; Paul J. Murphy of Bridgewater and Kenneth J. Murphy of Carver.
She was the grandmother of thirteen and the sister of Edward, Richard and Walter Noone all of Brockton; Robert Noone of Rockland; Lawrence Noone of Wareham and Linda Noone of Newton.
She also is survived by dozens of nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Thomas and Kenneth Noone.
