Edward S Dziergowski, 80, of Londonderry, NH, died suddenly Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Edward was born April 7, 1937 to Jenny (Denis) and Stanley Dziergowski in Bridgewater, MA. He graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1955. With his great love of sports, he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. In his senior year of high school, he was the captain of his basketball and baseball teams resulting in his being awarded the trophy for the athlete of the year.
After graduation, he joined the Navy in 1955. He was a sonarman on the Destroyer USS Caperton traveling the world. In 1959, after leaving the Caperton, he was assigned to Aviation Navy flying on patrol planes as an analyst to detect submarines. A highlight of his flying career was to walk around the world inside the plane as the P-3 circled the North Pole. Serving in various squadrons at NAS Brunswick, ME, he was a chief electronic's operator. He proudly retired from the military in Warminster, PA in 1976 with more than 20 years of service moving to Londonderry, New Hampshire.
After receiving an associate's degree, he worked for 17 years in several capacities for the largest security company, Mosler Safe, retiring in 1999. During his 41 years in Londonderry, he enjoyed playing softball, was a member of the Lion's Club, and a founding parishioner of St. Mark's Church. He had many loves including spending time with his family and friends, actively participating in his church, working in his yard, watching sports especially the Patriots and Red Sox, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lois Dziergowski of Londonderry; his children, Donna Rice and husband Leon, David Dziergowski and wife Kim, Candace Chopra and husband Mandeep, Darrin Dziergowski and wife Lenora, and Dean Dziergowski; 13 grandchildren, Dale, Kayla, Kalyn, Kristin, David, Jr., Kendra, Joseph, twins Elizabeth and Grace, Julia, Darrin, Jr., Robert, and Jessica; as well as a several great grandchildren.
Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, September 27 from 4 - 7 PM at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, September 28th at 10:00am in St. Mark's Church, 1 South Rd., Londonderry. The burial followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH at 2:30pm.
