James “Jimmy” Phillips, 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, September 15, 2017, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held, 11 AM, Monday, September 25, 2017, at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating.
Mr. Phillips was born March 18, 1946, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Homer Lee & Thelma Marie Newsome Phillips. He lived in the community all of his life and worked for Harvey’s and was co- owner and operator of Sing Oil Station in Fitzgerald, with his father. He was an active member of the Hurricane Booster Club and enjoyed the meetings.
He is survived by a nephew, Tracy Hilton of Glennville and an aunt, Etta Mae Collins of Tifton, as well as many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher James Phillips and two sisters: Linda Hilton and Dorothy Jean Geiger.
