NEWBURYPORT___Katherine M. (Phelan) Norton, 96, of 32 Low St., formerly of Paxton and Worcester, died Thursday October 6 in Seaview Retreat, Rowley. Her husband, Sherman J. Norton died March 31, 1974.
She leaves a son, Richard J. Norton of Rochdale; two daughters, Carol M. wife of George F. Guerin of Hampton, NH: and Patricia A. Newsome of Beverly; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Richard and Margaret (Dee) Phelan and later lived in Paxton 25 years before coming to Newburyport in 1979.
Mrs. Norton was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Newburyport and was a former member of St. Columba Church, Paxton.
The funeral will be held on Monday October 10 with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
