OSSINING- It is with a sadden heart that we announce that Karl C. Brockstedt passed away suddenly July 17, 2017. In his final moment’s he was surrounded by his family and will be greatly missed. Raised in Pleasantville, NY to immigrant parents from Germany; he attended the Pleasantville school system as well as being a member of the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department on Washington Ave. In his mid-teens; He also worked as an auto mechanic at Farrow’s. He later relocated to Ossining, NY and worked for Fiorito Construction for 20 years. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Ossining, NY as well as the Sons of the American Legion Post 506 in Ossining, NY. Those that knew him can attest to his kindness, loyalty, and hard work. He was well known in the Ossining Community and could usually be seen walking the streets of Ossining to get his daily newspaper, coffee and always made sure that he got his lotto ticket as well! He enjoyed Nascar racing, football, listening to the oldies and classic country music, any and all educational television programs, and he liked being up to date on current events and politics. He was taken from us to soon and we hope that everyone will remember the good and happy times that they had with him. We thank everyone for being his friend and taking care of him when we could not be near. We have many wonderful and amazing memories with him and of him that we will cherish always. At our father’s request, there will be no funeral arrangements. He requested to have a memorial service with all of those that knew and loved him and that it be one last party with him, sharing the sounds of the oldies and remembering him fondly. In honor of that a memorial service will be held on October 7, 2017 at the Loyal Order of Moose in Ossining, NY from 1pm till 4pm. Everyone that knew him and his family are welcome to come and party!
