Catherine L. (Connelly) Rose, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Marian Manor Nursing Home in South Boston. She was 92 years old.
Catherine was born in Old Town, Maine on March 2, 1925, a daughter of the late William J. Connelly and Leona M. (DuPlisses) Connelly. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1942. Catherine worked for over 15 years as a Candy Processor at Schraffts Candy Company in Charlestown before its closing. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and crocheting.
Catherine is the beloved wife of the late Richard Rose. She is the devoted mother of Kathleen Brennan of Braintree, Richard Rose and his wife Laura of Charlestown, Martin Rose and his wife GraceAnn of Charlestown and the late Michael Connelly. She is the loving Nana to Michael, Jillian, Ashley, Marty, Shannon and Ryan. She is the dear friend of Jan Nardone and Mary McGonagle-Crilley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Catherine's visiting hours on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 2 to 6 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Catherine's Funeral Services and burial will be private.
