Marcelle (Lajoie) Shripsa, age 89 of Lawrence passed away on September 15, 2017. Marcelle was born in Lawrence on August 11, 1928 to the late Louis Lajoie and Alida (Girard) Lajoie Cordeau. She was raised and educated in Methuen. Marcelle worked for many years at Western Electric. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, antiques, music, dancing, bingo, and trips to Salisbury Beach. Marcelle was well- liked by many and enjoyed the company of others, especially her many friends at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Mary Immaculate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, who took such good care of Marcelle during the years she resided there.
Marcelle was the beloved wife of the late Peter Shripsa with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. She was the dear sister of Eleanor Lyons and her husband Frank of Salem, NH. Marcelle was the loving aunt of Patricia Corbett and her husband Christopher of Salem, NH and Michael Lyons of Salem, NH. She was the cherished great aunt of Cole Corbett of Salem, NH. She is also survived by several beloved cousins.
