Tammy M. Long, age 54, of Whitman, MA passed away on Thursday September 14. She was the wife of Timothy Long for 20 years; they resided in Whitman for the last 19 years.
Born March 18, 1963 in Everett, Washington she was the daughter of Linda Stevenson of Washington and Missouri.
She was a longtime employee of Stop and Shop in Whitman.
First and foremost she loved being a mother to her three children and she loved animals, especially cats.
Through the years she had volunteered teaching CCD at Holy Ghost Church and delivering Meals on Wheels, to which she would bring her kids (begrudgingly) to teach them to help others.
In addition to her husband Timothy, she is survived by her son Thomas, daughter Torilu, son Timothy and her cat “Tuffy”. She also leaves family in Washington State and Missouri.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday September 20 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday September 19 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
