Janet J. Dumoulin, 70, of Tewksbury, Mass. formerly of Old River Rd. Manville died Wednesday September 13, 2017 at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham, MA. She was the loving wife of the late Edward J. Dumoulin. They were married on June 13, 1970 and shared over 39 wonderful years together until his passing in 2009.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Jeannette (Auger) Marcil. She was a resident of Manville for most of her life and made her home in Tewksbury for the past several years. Janet was a graduate of St. Anne’s Academy in Marlboro, MA.
Janet was employed at the L’Union de St. Jean Baptiste in Woonsocket for many years and later worked for Macy’s Department Stores for over 20 years before retiring.
Janet was a poll worker every Election Day for many years, it was a position she enjoyed as it gave her a chance to participate in American democracy and keep in touch with people in the community.
A devoted wife and mother, Janet’s grandchildren were the love of her life. She was a volunteer at their school and her love and dedication to them is beyond words.
She is survived by a daughter Michelle L. Chawkate and her husband Mokhtar of Tewksbury, MA and her grandchildren Sarah and Adam Chawkate. She was the sister of Ruth Biagetti and her husband Bob of Manville and sister of the late Maurice E. “Moe” Marcil and is survived by Moe’s wife Lori Marcil of Woonsocket. She is also survived by her son-in- law’s brother Abderrahim Chawkate and several nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 931 Jefferson Bld. #3004 Warwick, RI. 02886. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
