Thomas F. Mahoney, who worked as an electrical engineer for Raytheon for 44 years until his retirement, died Wed Oct 5, 2005 at Epoch at Norton. He was 83
Born in Norwood, Ma he was raised and educated in East Walpole, and graduated from Northeastern University in 1943 with a BS in Engineering. He served during WW II in the U.S. Navy and was discharged as a Lt. A resident of Needham for 51 years he moved to Mansfield in 1999. While living in Needham he was a active member and past president of the Needham Golf Club, former treasurer of the Needham Community Council, a member of the Needham Retired Men’s Club and an avid bridge player and reader.
Husband of the late Ann (Walsh) Mahoney, he is survived by his daughters Jeanne M. Leffers and her husband James of Warren RI, and Judy A. Mahoney of Mansfield, and 3 grandchildren Matthew, John and Ann Leffers.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Mon Oct 10 at 9 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Needham Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Sun 4-7 PM.
