Roger G. Renaud, 88, of New Bedford died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Pauline E. (Prud'homme) Renaud.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late George and Estelle (Jaillet) Renaud, he lived in New Bedford for all of his life.
He was employed by Coyne Industrial Laundry as a driver salesman. He also served as shop steward for the Teamsters Local 59.
Roger was a communicant of St. Joseph - St. Therese Church, where he was a former member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
He enjoyed cribbage, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include three children, Linda DelVal and her husband Jose of East Freetown, Thomas Renaud of New Bedford and his girlfriend Jean Berger of Fairhaven, and Marilyn Spencer and her husband Anthony of Acushnet; four grandchildren, Adam Spencer of New Bedford, Daniel Renaud and his wife Sarah of Norton, Julie Nightlinger and her fiancé Andrew Bonville of Acushnet, and Jacob Spencer of Acushnet; five great-grandchildren, William and Laura Jae Bonville and Madison, Gianna, Leigha Nightlinger, and their mother Jennifer; four siblings, Paul Renaud, Yvette Costa, Marcel Renaud, and Germaine Stephens; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Jeffrey and Jason Nightlinger and brother of the late Sylvio Renaud and Georgette Letendre.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Joseph - St. Therese Church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
