Biddeford- Roland C Dinan, age 57, passed away on September 11, 2017, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Biddeford, Maine on March the 7th, 1960, a son of the late Francis and Loretta (Dupuis) Dinan.
After graduating from Old Orchard Beach High School, Roland joined the Navy. He spent 10 years in the Navy. While in listed in the Navy he married Lucinda (Stever). They were married for 25 years, until she passed away in 2006.
He then got remarried to Rita (Couture) Dinan on July 25, 2015.
He worked for West Point Steven’s Mills and became president on the union. He also worked for a while at Smitty’s Cinema as a cook in their kitchen. He was well known for his hard work at Marden’s Department Store in the hardware department.
Roland enjoyed building models airplanes and model ships. He also loved collecting movies and had a large collection of music and videos.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rita (Couture) Dinan; Loretta (Dupuis) Dinan, his beloved mother; Children- Richard Hallett and his wife Kim of Tampa FL., Mike Hallett and his wife Missy of Biddeford, Justin Hallett and his wife Shawna of Biddeford, Evelyn Everest and her husband Ian of Biddeford, Christopher Newton of Biddeford; Sister- Joanne Starbird of Portland; Cousins- Sheila St. Hilaire of Saco, Tom Dupuis ,; Uncle- Joseph Dupuis and his 3 sons of Dover N.H; Nephew- Arron Starbird of Miami FL.; Grandchildren- Noah and Kayleigh Hallett of Biddeford , Callie Hallett of Tampa FL., Alexis Moore of Biddeford, Keegan and Kenzee Everest of Biddeford.
A celebration of life will be held for him on September 16, 2017 at 2 pm at 31 Harvey Street, Biddeford. It will be a potluck menu and dishes or appetizers will be greatly appreciated. Online condolence messages can be submitted at www.mainefuneral.com
