Richard R. Flynn, age 86, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 9, 2017. He was born in Springfield to the late Charles Clair and Juliette (Morneau) Flynn. Richard is a Veteran having served in the United States Coast Guard. He is a former communicant of St. George Church in Chicopee, MA. During his work career, Richard, who was known as Dick, always enjoyed working with his hands and was a mechanic for many years at The William Carter Company in Springfield, MA where he met his wife, Jeannine; Notion Thread Inc. in West Springfield, MA, Loman Tool in Springfield, MA and finally at Numeric Medical Billing in West Springfield, MA where he retired. Dick had a love of clocks, woodworking and especially making and working on furniture pieces. He leaves his loving wife of 58 years Jeannine (Joyal) Flynn of Chicopee; his daughter Michele Flynn of Chicopee and son David Flynn and his wife Kimberly of Upton, MA. He also leaves two grandchildren Lauren and Sarah Flynn and his brother Bob Flynn of FL. He was predeceased by his daughter Julie Flynn. A Funeral Service will be held on Thurs, Sept. 14, 2017 at 10 AM from the Grise Funeral home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a funeral home service to begin at 11 AM. Burial will be private. Calling Hours will be held on Wed, Sept. 13, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
