Edward J. Buda, 90, of Worcester died Saturday, September 9th in Beaumont Nursing Home of Westborough. His wife of 10 years, Joanne Leahy died in 2007. He leaves a son, Michael J. Buda of Worcester; two daughters, Patricia A. Belliveau and her husband, Philip of Worcester and Christina M. Lavery and her husband, Herbert of Milford; a brother, Raymond Buda of Mashpee; a sister, Dorothy Stanton of Worcester; three grandchildren, Bryan Lavery and his wife, Andrea and their daughter, Ali, Jenna Lavery and Kristin Lavery. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Perry.
He was born in Worcester the son of Victor and Elsie Buda. Edward was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He worked for the Worcester Gas Company for 40 years as a senior foreman, retiring in 1989. Mr. Buda was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed playing the slot machines.
Calling hours are Tuesday, September 12th from 4:00 until 6:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by a service at 6:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
