Kelsi M. Roach, 16, of Chula passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, in Chula. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017, in the Sanctuary of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Kelsi will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 13, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
David Adams, Clark Walker, Brian Sumner, Chris Goodman, Josh Hendrix and Austin Hamilton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Born August 17, 2001 in Tifton, Kelsi was the daughter of Cal and Sue Roach of Chula and Cindy and Danny Hoover of Adel. Kelsi was an 11th-grade student at Tift County High School and dreamed of being a pediatrician and graduating from Kennesaw State University. This past summer, she volunteered for 250 hours with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Tift Regional Medical Center and was a member of HOSA (Health Organization Students of America). Kelsi spent her lunch time in the special needs classroom helping with students. She just got her first car and was so excited and had planned to go this week to get her license. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jeff and Betty Jo Roach.
In addition to her parents, Kelsi is survived by one brother, Sam Roach of Chula; her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Diane Morey of Moultrie; two uncles and their families, Jeff and Valerie Roach and son, Jared and Clay Roach and his children, Lucy, Catherine and Lilly; and her step-brothers and sisters, Jonathan Harper of Valdosta, James Howell II of Acworth, Kellie Price of Hahira and Chloe Hoover and Seth Hoover, both of Adel.
