Roger W. Frenette, 84, of Berlin, passed away on Thursday September 7, 2017 at Catholic Medical Center from complications during surgery. He was born in Berlin on September 13, 1932, the son of Joseph and Ida (Arsenault) Frenette and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1952 and was a US Army Veteran. Roger had been employed by the local paper mill for 42 years and had also done roofing. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, enjoyed camping on Songo Pond, in Maine, and he was a big Bruins fan. Roger enjoyed playing the harmonica, listening to country music, telling stories and making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by all.
Family includes his wife of 61 years Marguerite (Croteau) Frenette of Berlin; his children Denis Frenette and wife Susan of Berlin, Lucy Patry and husband Bob of Berlin, Claire Frenette of Berlin, Claude Frenette and wife Sandy of Berlin, Gisele Mercier and husband Brian of Litchfield, Giles Frenette and wife Colleen of Berlin, Estelle Lamare and husband Dave of Colchester, CT, Francis Frenette and companion Shelley of Greenwich, NY; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister Ida (Frenette) Lapointe of Berlin; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Norman, Gerard, Edmond, Lionel and Romeo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the funeral.
