Richard W. DeFeo
Active Member of Tewksbury United Methodist Church

TEWKSBURY: Richard W. DeFeo, age 72, a resident of Tewksbury for 45 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington on Thursday, September 7, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of Maryann (Adams) DeFeo, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 10, 2017.

Born in Winthrop on July 26, 1945, he was the son of the late Guido DeFeo and the late Vincenza (Siraco) DeFeo.

Richard was raised in East Boston, attended East Boston schools and graduated from East Boston High School.

In 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard and served with HQ Company 4th TNG Regiment.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for the Mobil Oil Company, where he worked as a Dock Worker and Truck Driver.

Mr. DeFeo was a longtime active member of the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, where he served as a member of the Board of Trustees and sang in the choir.

Richard enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, playing football and baseball, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Richard J. DeFeo of Clinton, Laura A. Scholl and her husband David, and Douglas A. DeFeo and his wife Cherise, all of Tewksbury; five grandchildren, Joshua, Adam, and Jessica Scholl, and Xavier, and Deā€™Andra DeFeo.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet on Monday, Sept. 11, at 9:30 a.m. at the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, 2335 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury for his Funeral Services. Private interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. At the request of the family there are No Calling Hours. Kindly Omit Flowers. Donations in his memory may be made to the Richard DeFeo Memorial Fund-Tewksbury United Methodist Church, 2335 Main St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
