LEICESTER: Rose (Gilmette) Ramos, 88, of Charles Street passed away Sunday Sept. 3 in Rose Monahan Hospice House after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 66 years, Alfred P. Ramos, Sr., two sons; Alfred P. Ramos, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland and Richard Ramos, his friend Carol Thompson of Brooklyn, New York, a daughter Paula J. McGeary and her husband Thomas of Leicester, seven grandchildren; Bryan, Erin, Kevin, Deserae, Richard, Aja and Rosemary, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother Joaquim Gilmette and his wife Pearl of Falmouth and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by four brothers and five sisters..
Mrs. Ramos was born in New Bedford, daughter of Joaquim and Virginia (Raymond) Gilmette. She worked in the admitting department at Emerson Hospital in Concord for several years before retiring. She was a member of St. Pius X Church and the Acton Boxboro Hall of Fame. She enjoyed walking and as a devote Catholic she would pray for the world daily. She also enjoyed going to yard sales, reading, cooking and baking. Her absolute love has always been family.
The funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 11 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1:00-3:00 PM in the funeral home.
