.Ida DeMarco, 100 years old, passed away on September 4, 2017 after a short illness.
Ida was born in Manhattan, NY on June 14, 1917. She was the daughter of Louise and Augustino Altadonna. She had 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
Ida was married to Peter DeMarco on September 18, 1938. They were happily married for 63 loving years up until Peter passed. Together they created a safe, warm and inviting home for their children and those they loved.
Ida was a member of St. Ann's Church. Ida had an unwavering faith in God. Ida was devoted to her family. When her children were in school she volunteered for the PTA of PS11.
Ida enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. Sunday dinners were an event and the holidays were unforgettable times filled with good memories made with family. She had a green thumb when it came to taking care of her plants. She especially enjoyed sitting on her front porch visiting with her family and neighbors. She will be remembered for her patience and understanding. Ida was a kind nurturing woman who opened her warm heart to those who needed an empathetic listener.
Ida is survived by her daughter Louise, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Louise's children Robert, his wife Annie, and their daughter Emmie; and Corine, her husband Mark, and Dominic; Jerry and Laura's children Peter and Anthony.
Ida is predeceased by her husband Peter, her son Jasper (Jerry), her infant son Peter, and her great grandson Peter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Monday Sept. 11th in St. Anne’s Church 101 Cromwell Ave. Staten Island, NY 10304 at 11AM. Burial will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold, NJ.
