Heaven inherited a beautiful life on the morning of Sunday Sept. 3,2017. A wife of 60 years, a sister, mother of 3, grandmother of 4 and great grandmother of 2. Born in Oran, Missouri on October 8, 1934 to Wendolin and Laura Heisserer. She found her way to San Francisco at a very young age where she met the love of her life, Augustine Martinez and married on January 8, 1957. They eventually made Ventura their home where mom’s first priority was to her family and creating a loving household for all to enjoy. Her hospitality was enormous and she made all feel welcomed. Her creativity led her to a career in the seamstress profession. Mom secured a great position at Cal Leather Jackets until they closed in the early 80’s. She then moved on to help woman with their prosthesis needs at Althea’s in Ventura where she retired in 2004. Mom loved to entertain on holidays and always had her home decked out in all the appropriate décor for all to enjoy. Her specialty was entertaining, she couldn’t wait for the next holiday to celebrate with family and friends. She truly lived a life deeply devoted to her family and will be intensely missed by all who knew her. Alene is preceded in death by her parents, Wendolin and Laura; brother Albert Heisserer; sisters, Loretta Robert, Leona Bruenderman and Adela Scheffer all of Missouri. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Augustine Martinez, Brother Herman W Heisserer, Daughter Kathy Martinez, Sons, Augie Martinez, Curtis Martinez, Grandchildren, Aaron, Joshua, Curtis Jr. and Zowey, Great Grandchildren Damion and Olivia.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours Thursday September 7, 2017 from 4 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am on Friday, September 8, 2017 in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Rd, Ventura. Interment to immediately follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
