Fall River – Rita M. Silva, age 89 of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, Sep. 3, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Silva and the daughter of the late Manuel & Virginia (Correia) Maiato. Prior to retiring, Rita worked as an Insurance & Real Estate Agent for Arthur Pimental Insurance Co. She was also a long time parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church.
She is survived by her five children: John G. Silva of Fall River, Steven M. Silva of Fall River , Joseph P. Silva of Maine, Kenneth B. Silva of Fall River & Virginia S. Borges of Fall River; one sister: Lucy Arruda of Westport; six grandchildren: Khrista, Janessa, Kendal, Danielle, Jayden, & Sofia; one great granddaughter: Alexandria; nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late George Maiato.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
