Harvard P. “Harvey” Nasuti 82, of Norfolk, and a former longtime Franklin resident, died peacefully at his home on Saturday September 2, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy A. “Doey” (Feeley) Nasuti.
Born in Milford, June 29, 1935 a son of the late Jack and Mary N. (Ramino) Nasuti, he was raised and educated in Franklin. He graduated Franklin High School with the infamous class of 1953, and was active in sports all through his schooling.
For more than 35 years, he worked for the Town of Franklin Public Works Department. He retired as Director of Public Works, yet remained active in Franklin activities.
Early in his career, he served as a Page at the State House in Boston. He was a member of the Franklin Housing Authority and served as President for many years. He was a life member and Past Grand Knight of Sacred Heart Council #1847 in Franklin and was past president of the St. Anthony & Columbus Benevolent Society in Franklin. He was an avid and active supporter of all sports in Franklin. He coached several youth sports teams. He was a member of the Half Time Boys and the Franklin Grid Iron Club. For his many years of service and devotion to youth sports in Franklin, the Town of Franklin in June of this year, dedicated a flagpole at Fletcher Field in his honor. He was able to be present for the dedication and was humbled at being so honored.
His hobbies and interests included playing golf, traveling, especially to Aruba, where he and his wife visited more than 25 times, summer vacations on Cape Cod and trips to North Conway, NH. He always remained close to his fellow class mates and was the social director of the “Dizzy Dozen” a monthly dinner reunion that he took charge of. For the last 10 years, he served as the evening door attendant at the Oteri Funeral Home.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 56 years are a son, Thomas P. Nasuti and his wife Janet of Franklin, a daughter Christine L. Maguire and her husband Ken of Franklin, 2 brothers, David L. Nasuti and his wife Dorothy of Franklin, Raymond A. Nasuti and his wife MaryBeth of Franklin a sister Vilma G. Pascucci of Franklin. Also surviving are the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Noah, Tia and Jack.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Thurs. Sept. 7th at 10:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 11AM. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
