Ryan O. Mitchell, 49, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday August 30, 2017 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation - Highlander in Fall River after a long-term battle with leukemia.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in New Jersey for many years before moving to Southeastern Massachusetts in 2004.
Ryan was a grateful member of the Anonymous Fellowship. He was a former member of the Bayonne Kidets and the Bridgemen Drum and Bugle Corps.
He is survived by his mother, Rosia Mitchell Sarnoski; his daughters, Tiara McClain and Merissa Baker; his niece, Janelle Lee-Laurie; his special friend/(brother), Nelson Hughes; as well as a host of family and friends in the Southeastern Massachusetts area.
He was predeceased by his brother, Fred Mitchell, Jr. and his stepfather, Daniel Sarnoski.
His family would like to extend special thanks to his friend Steve Tomsky of Mountain Memorial, and the staffs of Kindred - Highlander in Fall River and Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
A visitation will be held on Sunday September 3, 2017 from 12-2 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Funeral Services and burial will take place in New Jersey.
