Katherine R. Sullivan, 87, of New Bedford died Friday September 1, 2017 at Brookdale Dartmouth Village after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Cornelius J. and Elizabeth T. (Hurley) Sullivan, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.
Miss Sullivan was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse at St. Luke's Hospital for 38 years until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School and Cape Cod Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include four nieces and nephews, Christine Almeida, Daniel Sullivan, Gary Sullivan and Donna Ameen; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary E. Demsky, Cornelius Sullivan, and John Sullivan, and aunt of the late Kevin Sullivan.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 11 AM.
