Eugene Fred Martin, 67, died Saturday, August 26, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Cheryl Ann (Rankin) Martin. They had been married for 13 years.
Born in Woodstock, Conneticut, he was the son of the late Donald Richard and Ethel Bell (Hazzard) Martin. Eugene was a lifelong member of the Native American Nipmuc Tribe and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam war. He had resided in Charlton since 2000.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Eugene Martin, Jr. & Kerri Martin of North Providence, Carl D. Martin & Dorothy Martin of Dudley, Massachusetts, and Lori A. Martin of North Providence, his step-children, Deana Laudone of Charlton, Massachusetts, Rebecca M. Sumner of Holland, Renee A. Jalbert of Charlton, Kayla M. Rankin of Charlton and Sarah M. Rankin of Charlton, his sister, Lois A. Boyd & brother-in-law Samuel Boyd Sr. of Charlton, Massachusetts, his niece, Sheila Wright & nephew, Samuel Boyd Jr., as well as his fourteen grandchildren (Maricia, Desirae, Carl Jr., Kaycee, Luke, Elisabeth, Pasquale, Gianluca, Alessandro, Giovanni, Nicholas, Emma, Kailan & Xavia), three great-grandchildren, Jo Ann Morin, the mother of his children, and a large extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, vet buddies and so many friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:30 am in the Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet.
