William E. Evans, age 69, of East Taunton, died August 28, 2017 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was the devoted husband of Diane L. (Caesar) Evans for 32 years. Bill was born in Greenville, NC, a son of the late Junior and Charlotte (Sneed) Evans. He was raised and educated in Dorchester and served in the Army during Vietnam. For over 37 years, he had been employed by Johnson & Johnson. Bill was a people person, real gentleman, hard worker and proud serviceman. He was also an avid Boston sports fan, especially of the NE Patriots. He was proud of his children and will be especially missed for his great sense of humor, wisdom and strength.
Bill was the father of Phillip of Attleboro, Geoffrey of East Taunton, Deanna of Fall River and Stephanie of East Taunton; grandfather of Lauryn; brother of Mevilyn Wilson, Hazel McClanahan, Mary Hanesworth and the late Edward and James Short, Ada Lloyd and Barbara Ann Matthews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Alice B. Moore, many nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers and his children’s friends that he took into his heart.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 5-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 9am, followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:30am.
