Lucille (Piotte) Belanger, age 82, passed away on Aug. 28, 2017. She was born on July 23, 1935 in Springfield. She was a daughter of the late Alphonse and Florence (Auger) Piotte. Lucille worked as a teachers aid in Chicopee public schools for 10 years before she retired around 1997. She leaves her loving husband Edward Belanger of Chicopee; 3 sons, David Belanger of Worcester, Edward Belanger Jr., and his wife Andrea of Chicopee and Michael Belanger and his wife Audrey of Chicopee; 2 daughters Susan Keenan and her husband Tom of Springfield and Donna Wiater and her husband Mark of South Hadley; 2 sisters, Bette Currier and her husband John of Ludlow, Lorraine Currier and her husband Walter of Belchertown. She also leaves 15 beloved grandchildren, a sister-in-law Therese Belanger of Chicopee along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Rita Piotte, her sister-in-law Germaine O’Connor and 2 grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, followed by a Memorial Mass in Assumption Church at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in St Rose de Lima Cemetery.
