Elizabeth Ann (Gallant) Douglass, of Somerville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 27th. She was 53.
Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Doris E. (Blampye) Gallant.
Elizabeth was a CNA for many years and was passionate about caring for others. Her family describes her as loving, caring and non-judgmental. The most important part of her life was family. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything, and made a point each day to share with everyone how much she loved them.
In her spare time Elizabeth enjoyed playing darts, shooting pool, and watching the Boston Red Sox. She was a proud Bostonian and loved her Italian heritage. Her favorite color was blue and she loved horses and dolphins. Elizabeth was the type of person that enjoyed life and having fun. Her energy always lit up the room.
Elizabeth was the devoted mother of Dawn Gallant of Malden, Kimberly and Taylor Shurila, both of Boston. She was the loving grandmother of nine and the dear sister of eight. Elizabeth is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
At the family’s request, services will be held privately. Memorial contributions in Elizabeth’s name may be sent to the charitable organization of One’s choice.
