BAR MILLS/PORTER- James “Jim” P. Gardner Sr., age 62, of Porter, passed away on Aug. 27, 2017 at Bridgton Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1955 in Saco, a son of the late Kenneth and Doris (Flynn) Gardner and grew up in Bar Mills.
After graduating from Bonny Eagle High School, Jim went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army from 1972 – 1979.
He will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed shooting pool, music and dancing. Jim lived life to its fullest!
He was a member of the American Legion – Post 123 in Kezar Falls.
He is survived by the love of his life- Donna Brown of Porter; children- James Gardner Jr. and Michael Gardner of Canada; his brother- Michael of OOB; sisters- Susan of PA and Christy of TX; granddaughter- Vivian Knobbs of NH; and his best friend- Gary E. Smith of Parsonsfield.
A graveside service with US Army Honors will be held on Thursday Sept. 7 at 2 PM at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Road in Sanford (Springvale).
