Mark A. Gavel 55, of Franklin, died peacefully, Sunday August 27, 2017.
Born in Norwood February 23, 1962, a son of Claudia L. (Hyder) Palladini and the late David A. Gavel, he was a longtime Franklin resident.
Mark was raised and educated in Franklin and worked for Counterwerks, a custom countertop manufacturer. He also formally worked as an aide at Wrentham Developmental Center.
His passion was playing the guitar, landscaping and spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Sharon D’Orazio and her fiancé Stephen Albuit of Wrentham, Sherrill Gavel and her fiancé Kevin Nye of Milford, Martha Guerrieo and her husband Anthony of Malden, Daniel Gavel and his wife Lori of Westford, Michael Gavel and his wife Terri of Franklin, David Gavel of Franklin, Dana Gavel and his fiancé Kimberly Harrington of Franklin, Lawrence Palladini and his wife Bonnie of Woonsocket and Gregory Palladini of Franklin. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Eric P. Gavel and Charles D. Gavel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday September 1st at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a service at 10AM in St. John’s Episcopal Church 237 Pleasant St. Franklin.
Interment at Union Street Cemetery, Franklin will be held at a later date.
Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
