Shane Williams, 45, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, August 28, 2017 in Ben Hill County.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Oasis Church of God in Lyons with the Rev. Gilbert Wommack and the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Vidalia. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Shane was born January 15, 1972 in Atmore, Alabama, to Patricia Altman Williams Harris and the late Walter Fredrick Timm Williams. He was a graduate of Robert Toombs Christian Academy in Vidalia where he played football. Shane was a truck driver for Pine Creek Timber and was a boilermaker/tube welder having traveled throughout the United States. He was a member of Boilermakers Local 26 in Savannah. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Oasis Church of God in Lyons.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Crawford Williams of Fitzgerald; a son, Cody Williams of Toombs County; step-daughters, Taylor Woodard of Rhine and Hannah Akridge of Fitzgerald; his mother, Patricia Williams Harris of Vidalia; a sister, Kimberly Williams Wingate of Vidalia; a half-brother, Justin Williams of Toombs County; nephew, Trey Wingate; maternal grandmother, Tommie Lou Altman of Toombs County; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Stephen & Teresa Foster of Fitzgerald; two aunts, Patricia W. Dixon & Jimmy of Vidalia and Debbie Williams Banks & Jeffrey of Augusta; as well as 5 cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Fredrick Timm Williams and grandparents, John D. Williams, Sr., Ethel Timm Williams, and Jim Altman.
