Bonnie Jean (Howard) Flaherty, 56, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, with her loved ones at her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Boston, a daughter of the late Anne (Hayes) and James Violante. She grew up in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School. Bonnie was a driver for the MBTA, The Ride, and enjoyed spending summer days at West Hill Dam. She loved time with her family, and was devoted her sons, who never left her side during her final days.
Bonnie leaves three sons: William Howard of Attleboro, Daniel Flaherty of Attleboro, and Michael Flaherty of West Roxbury; two sisters, Arlean Howard of Plymouth and Christine Quirk of West Boylston; two brothers, Joseph Howard of Kingston and John Howard of Quincy, her “adopted granddaughter” Alexis Hubbard, and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially Rita Hayes of Methuen, who helped care for her. Along with her parents, she was welcomed into Heaven by her daughter, Crystal, her sister, Christine, and her brother, Daniel.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Amvets Post 147, 576 Primrose Street, Haverhill. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. Bonnie was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
