Diana Mae Larson, 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 6 PM, Thursday, August 31, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jimmy Fant officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 5 PM until 6 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Larson was born December 24, 1937, in Waukegan, Illinois, to the late Howard & Loretta Larsen Smith. She moved to the community 20 years ago and was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed adventurous traveling, especially through the Great Smoky mountains. Mrs. Larson also enjoyed cooking and hosting loved ones in her home. She had a gift of hospitality. Mrs. Larson formally attended Grace Missionary Church in Zion, Illinois and was a member of Bowens Mill Christian Center.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Gene Larson of Fitzgerald; children: Leslie Michaelson & husband Bennett of Kent, Washington, Linda Barrette & husband Paul of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Laura Clark of Abbeville; grandchildren: Janelle Sarchett & husband Tim, Elysa Clark, Bethany Clark, Paul James Barrette and Joshua Barrette and a great-grandchild, Kylee Sarchett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Luann Jean Larson and a great-grandson, Aiden Christopher
