Nancy E. (Ferreira) DeSouza, 67, of Little Compton passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Anne's Hospital, with her family by her side following a brief illness. She was the wife of David R. DeSouza.
Born in Newport, RI, daughter of the Elizabeth M. (Kelly) Ferreira of Portsmouth, RI and the late William Ferreira, she had lived in Little Compton since 1969. Prior to retirement in 1998, she was a telephone operator for NYNEX. She was also co-owner and founder of Dunham Hill Inc., Coming Attractions, Inc. and Molly Lot Enterprises all of Little Compton. Mrs. DeSouza was a Communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Little Compton and was an avid reader. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was happiest when she was with her family.
Including her mother and husband, survivors include 2 sons: David R. DeSouza, Jr. of Fall River and Mark G. DeSouza of Little Compton; 3 brothers: William P. Ferreira of NC, David A. Ferreira of N. Kingstown and James M. Ferreira of Portsmouth; 4 grandchildren: Michael, Emily, Lily and Jacklyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church at 10 AM.

Burial in Union Cemetery, Little Compton.
