LEICESTER: Linda A. (Greene) Gregory, 52, of Oakwood Lane passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday August 23 in Brigham & Women's Hospital after a 10 year battle with breast cancer.
She leaves two sons; Samuel R. Gregory and Garrett R. Gregory both of Leicester, her mother Marcella (Therrien) Greene of Leicester, two sisters; Diana McMahon and Donna Greene both of Auburn, several nieces and nephews including two special nephews Michael & Daniel McMahon and a special niece Kelly (McMahon) Crowley, her longtime best friend Lynn M. Ellsworth of North Oxford and two very dear people that Linda took under her wing Gabriella Cardinale and Seamus Bushe both of Leicester.
Linda was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Roger Greene. She was a Registered Nurse at UMass Memorial Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 20 years, her true passion was caring for the premature babies. She dedicated much of her time to the March of Dimes and was voted nurse of the year by the March of Dimes for her exceptional work. She was well respected by all of the doctors and nurses at Umass Memorial and loved by many of the families that she cared for. She volunteered her time annually to the NICU golf tournament. She was a member of the MA Nursing Association. She enjoyed going to the beach, reading, traveling and attending Jimmy Buffet concerts. She opened her home to her son's friends and treated them all like they were her own children. Linda was a true fighter and fought for many years, she will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
Calling hours for Linda will be held Wednesday, August 30 from 4:00-7:00 PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. A Graveside service will be held Thursday, Sept. 7 in Central Cemetery, Millbury at 11:00 AM followed by a celebration of her life.
