Manuel B. daSilva, age 91, of Somerset, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2017. Born in Faial, Acores, he was the son of the late Francisco B. and Maria Conceicao (daSilva) daSilva, and husband of Teresinha (Aguiar) daSilva. He was a construction worker for various companies and enjoyed watching mass, and soccer, listening to his Fados records and time with his family especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; Dalila Monteiro, Alice Carvalho (husband Carlos), and Alda Espinola, siblings; Antonio daSilva, Alice Vargas, Ana Souto, Amelia daSilva, and Clemetina Dutra, grandchildren; Amanda and Paul Carvalho, Jocelyn Cabral (husband Shaun), Ashley, Brittany, Joshua, and Katelyn Monteiro, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Francisco, Alfredo, Maria Amelia, and Maria C. daSilva.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. John of God Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on Monday from 4-8 P.M.
