Obituary

STURBRIDGE: Russell A. Kelly, 53, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at his home. He leaves two daughters, Erika R. Pierce of Woodstock, CT and Deeanna M. Hunt of Southbridge; a son, Nathan R. Kelly and his girlfriend Jennifer Blais of Holland; his former wife, Dianne C. Aho of Leicester; his mother, Carol A. (LaFleur) Bonin of Southbridge; his father, Rodney W. Kelly and his wife Tracy of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Susan R. Krans and her husband Joseph of Brookfield; Kimberly P. Congdon and her husband Shane of Chaplin, CT; a brother, Steven L. Kelly of Southbridge; two step-brothers, Mark and Tommy Bonin of Southbridge; two step-sisters, Barbara Brisson and her husband Bryan of Vermont, Nancy Bonin of Southbridge; nine grandchildren, his godmother, Jaqueline Cournoyer of Southbridge; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his many brother and sister Ironworkers and friends. He was born in Southbridge, raised in Holland and lived in Sturbridge most of his life.

Russ was a General Foreman for Structures Derek out of Local 7 Boston. He was a member of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers where he worked for more than 25 years. He started his career out of Local 57 Worcester alongside his mentor, David Aho. He was a member of the Boston Chapter of UIWMC and the Holland Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed his job, playing golf, motorcycles and restoring classic cars.
