Jean L. Galvin of Boynton Beach, FL formerly of Dedham, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2017. Jean was born September 9, 1929 in Boston the daughter of the late Albert and Lena Gillingham.
Jean, who worked for several years in the insurance industry, was loved by many. Her pool was the central spot for countless celebrations with family and friends. Jean enjoyed traveling, and visited the Bahamas, Cancun, California, Canada, and many destinations in the US. Any trip to the ocean or to a lighthouse was her favorite destination.
Jean is survived by her daughter Robin and husband Joel Fink of Lake Worth, FL, and her son James J. Jr. of Dedham. Jean is also survived by grandchildren Eric, Andrew, Emily, Janelle, Casey and Renee, daughters-in-law Paulette A. Galvin and Mary Galvin, brother-in-law Francis A. Galvin and sister-in-law Patricia Galvin. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband James J. Galvin, a World War II Navy Veteran, as well as her late daughter Karen J. and late son John F. Jean is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Saturday August 26 at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Dedham at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Friday, August 25 from 4:00 - 8:00pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
