WORCESTER – Sophie J. (Niedzwicki) Hampar, 97, died peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Worcester Health Center, where she has been a resident for many years. She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of the late Frank and Louise (Bogdanski) Niedzwicki. She graduated from Worcester schools and worked for many years as a waitress in the area, including for 38 years at the former Eden Restaurant. She loved dancing, playing bingo and travelling, especially her many trips to Vegas.
She leaves her daughter, Janice Donovan of Oxford; her son, Thomas Hamparsoomian of Westborough; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothter, Chester Niedzwicki and her two sisters, Alice Koski and Lucy Lucia.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday at the Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the CALLAHAN, FAY and CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.
