Georgia Ann Drew, 85
Hollis- Georgia Ann Drew of 138 Plains Road, Hollis, passed away peacefully
on August 18, 2017 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough Maine. She fought
a courageous battle with Stage 4 cancer.
She was born in Hollis on Sept. 28, 1931. The daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth
Maddox. As a young woman she married the late Carlton E. Drew from West Hollis,
they had 4 children, Donna Cushing from Massachusetts, Carl Drew from Spring Hill,
Florida, Michael Drew from Standish, Maine and Anthony Drew and his wife Lani from
Hollis, Maine.
After the children had completed school, Georgia went to work and cleaned homes for
wealthy people, right up until the ripe age of 79. Georgia was still working full time and
doing what she loved best, cleaning and associating herself with the folks at the Maine
Veterans Home.
Besides her four children, Georgia is survived by a brother, two sisters, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
In her spare time, Georgia liked to cook from scratch, her chocolate cream pie was out of
this world!
Georgia’s family would like to thank the staff at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their caring and support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday Sept. 9 at 3 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Burial will follow at Meeting House Hill Cemetery in Hollis. Online condolence messages can be expressed at www.mainefuneral.com
