Obituary

PORTER- James “Jim” Hadlock, age 73, passed away on Aug. 19, 2017 at St. Joseph's Manor in Portland.

He was born in Portland on May 11, 1944, a son of the late Edmund and Ruth (Griffith) Hadlock.

After graduating from Fryeburg Academy and Gorham State Teacher's College, now known at USM, Jim began a career in teaching and taught for many years at Bonny Eagle High School.

He enjoyed the outdoors – especially deer and bird hunting with his cousin Barry Hadlock. He also enjoyed ice fishing, training hunting dogs and spending time with his sister and family on the holidays.

Jim was also an avid golfer. He was able to combine this hobby with a retirement job as a grounds keeper at the Kezar Lake Country Club. The staff there became like a second family to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.

He is predeceased by his brother- Terry Hadlock.

Jim is survived by his sister- Lynette Jewell of Westbrook; four nieces and a nephew; several cousins; and his golfing “family” at Kezar Lake Country Club.

Visitation to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday Aug. 26 from 1 - 4 PM at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St. (Rt. 25) in Cornish.
