Nell Owen, age 85 of Crestview, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born in Lyons, GA on December 31, 1931, to George and Mamie Mixon. Nell was a school bus driver for many years. She loved to read, loved to go bowling, and shopping. Nell loved going out to eat, but most of all she loved her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Crestview. Nell is preceded in death by her parents and 3 sons: Charles, George, and Dean Suggs.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Jim Owen; daughters: D.D. Bell and husband John, and Donna Mullins. Also surviving are her 6 grandchildren: Martha, John, Holly, Craig, Justin, and Christopher and her 7 great grandchildren.
The celebration of Nell’s life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Kilgore and Rev. Fran Picker will be officiating. Services will also be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 21 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn with interment to follow in the Rosehill Cemetery in Ashburn..
