Rene Roderiques, 56, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday August 16, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Teixeira) Roderiques, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Rene was formerly employed as a machine operator for New England Plastics.
An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching all of the New England sports teams. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Roderiques and her fiancé Justin Gagne of Rehoboth, and Kara J. Gauthier of New Bedford; his siblings, Robert Roderiques of Dartmouth, Elaine Roderiques, Janet Roderiques, Kathy Roderiques, Davis Roderiques, and Arthur Roderiques, all of New Bedford; six grandchildren, Lexi, Cody, Syruss, Rayne, Emily, and Max; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Manuel Roderiques.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday August 21, 2017 at 9 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday August 20, 2017 from 2-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
