Arthur R.Johnson, 66, of Harris Road, died Sunday, October 2, 2005, at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the husband of Kathryn B. “Kay” (Gebler) Johnson.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Arthur R. and Alice (Swanson) Johnson.
He lived in Smithfield for 27 years previously living in California.
Mr. Johnson was a 21 year veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the Strategic Air Command. He had served in Vietnam. He worked at Bryant University in HVAC retiring in June 2004.
He is also survived by a son, Arthur R. Johnson of Smithfield, a daughter, Robin S. Ashburn of Moontownship, PA; five grandchildren, Richard C. and Arthur R. Johnson; William Ashburn, III, Ashley Sue and Tyler Evan Ashburn; three sisters, Joan Johnson and Marilyn Fiske both of Smithfield and Debra Bailey of Coventry.
His funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 am in the Ocean State Baptist Church, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield. Burial with military honors in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Wednesday 3-8pm in the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt.44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
