Cheryl A. Doherty

BILLERICA: Cheryl A. Doherty, age 61, recently of Billerica, formerly of Tewksbury and Bradford, passed away at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on Monday, August 14, 2017.
Born in Medford on November 3, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Frederick J. and Norma A. (Buckler) Doherty.
Cheryl was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1973.
Prior to her illness, she was employed by Alkermes, Inc. in Waltham.
Cheryl shared her home with her grandson, Ayden, who will miss his beloved “Ree” every day.
In her spare time, Cheryl enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods with friends, sleepovers with her grandsons, and most of all, spending time at the beach with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Tara J. Kloppenburg and Jill T. Kloppenburg, of Lowell; five grandchildren, Ashton, Damian, Tyler, Ayden and Zachary; sisters, Joanne Cole and her fiancé Douglas Lamport, of Tewksbury, Mary Hintze and her husband James, of Berkeley Heights, NJ, and Catherine Flodin Rizzari and her husband Michael, of Tewksbury; brothers, Frederick J. Doherty, Jr. and his wife Carolyn, of Hampton, VA, James M. Doherty and his wife Laura, of Wendell, NC and John P. Doherty and his wife Jeannie of Billerica; also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members including Jason Santoro, of Cambridge, who has been most supportive in co-parenting Ayden. She is forever grateful for his love and dedication to her beloved grandson, Ayden.
Memorial calling hours are Saturday, Aug. 19, from 2-4 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, immediately followed by a prayer service to be held at the funeral home.
