Mrs. Daisy I. (Goodland) Leary, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Leary, passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose on Monday afternoon, August 14, 2017. She was 94 years old.
Born in Newfoundland, Canada, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Ruby (Cake) Goodland. Mrs. Leary enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and listening to talk radio in the evening. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving son’s; Richard J. Leary of Medford and David J. and his wife, Debbie Leary of Spring Hill, Florida, brother’s; Cyril Goodland of Charlotte, North Carolina and John L. and his wife, Elizabeth A. Goodland of Woburn and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alexander and William “Cal” Goodland.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Monday, August 21, 2017, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the funeral home, prior to the service, from 9 to 11 AM. Interment will be in the Westview Cemetery in Lexington.
