In Taunton, August 11, 2017 Maria (Semenec) Dran, Age 83, passed away in her home peacefully with her loved ones by her side. Maria was the wife of the late Michael Dran. She was born in the Ukraine, the daughter of the late Zenon & Kathryn Semenec. Maria had resided most of her life in Taunton. She was a former employee of Reed & Barton Company in Taunton and a seamstress for Pine Manufacturing in Assonet. People who knew Maria were touched by her warmth, kindness and generosity. She would make afghans for those in need or just those that needed them. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing and going to her annual Ukranian picnics. Maria is survived by her loving children, Mary Dran of Taunton, Lillian Souza and her husband John of Taunton, Pegi Conte and her husband John of Taunton and her late sons Stephen, Michael and Peter. Maria also leaves her siblings, Donna Ryan of Illinois, Irene Silva of CA, Ellie Arruda of Fall River and the late Myra Buss. She also leaves her six beloved grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Maria leaves her special friend and caregiver Joseph Peixoto of Taunton. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Sunday, August 20th from 5-7 pm. at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 21st at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in Maria’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alz.org.
