Michael T. “Mike” Drennan, age 44, a Natick resident and devoted family man, died on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at his home in Natick after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Kristin (Downey) Drennan and the loving father of Alexander, Morgan and Riley.
Born in Liverpool, England, he was the eldest child of eight and lived in Belgium and England, attending the British School of Brussels in Belgium and Northumbria University in New Castle, England before settling in the United States. He worked at Cognex Corporation for almost 20 years, most recently as a Senior Applications Administrator.
Michael is survived by Kristin; their son Alexander “AJ” Downing, and their daughters Morgan and Riley Drennan, all of Natick. Michael is also survived by his parents Michael G. and Heather (Gallimore) Drennan of Barrington, IL, as well as his sister, Rachael (Drennan) Dickson and her husband Paul Dickson of Edinburgh, Scotland, his brother James Drennan and his wife Tana Drennan, his sisters Abigail Drennan and Leah Drennan, and his brothers Robert Drennan, Jonathan Drennan, and Luke Drennan all of Barrington, IL.
Michael was a car enthusiast and loved to spend time working on and tinkering with old English cars, especially his Austin Mini Cooper. He shared his love of cars with his children, attending car shows and watching Formula 1 racing regularly. He was a lifelong supporter of the Liverpool Football Club and passed along his support for the team to his family. He had a sharp wit and a fierce loyalty, and the world is a duller place with his passing.
Celebration of life services will be private.
