Ralph S. “Stan” Jacobsen, 81, of 179 Pierce St. died Monday, Oct. 3, in UMass Memorial Healthcare Center.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Irene E. (Gedymin) Jacobsen; two sons, Scott C. Jacobsen of Worcester and Craig S. and his wife Lori Jacobsen of Holden; a sister Helen and her husband Paul Bjorkman; three grandsons, Joey of Holden, Zachary of Spencer, and Jeffrey of Worcester and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of Axel and Maria (Jensen) Jacobsen and graduated from Becker Junior College and Worcester Polytechnical Institute-Industrial Management. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Philippines in the 671st Tank Destroyer Battalion.

Stan worked for 38 years as a Traffic Manager for G.F. Wright Steel & Wire Co. in Worcester. He was a member of the Boylston Lodge of Masons and enjoyed summering in Moody Beach, Maine with his family in the home that he had built.

The funeral service is private. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to , West Boylston Fire and Ambulance Fund, 39 Worcester St. W. Boylston, 01583. Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., is directing arrangements.
