Thomas E. Lester Sr., 79, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was welcomed home into the arms of his Savior after a ten-year courageous battle with a rare disease.
Tom was a Louisville native and retired from Ford Motor Company KTP. He was past master of Excelsior Masonic Lodge No. 258 (Robinson Lodge) and also a member of Louisville Scottish Rite. He was a long-time member and deacon at Southside Baptist Church and a member at Incarnation Catholic Church.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Jane Holthouser; children, Cindy Clark (Ronald) and Thomas Lester Jr. (Karen); grandchildren, Stephanie Nichols, Jennifer Clark, Cody and Katie Lester; great-grandchild, Savannah Nichols; as well as several close friends.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s honor may be made to Southside Baptist Church or the ACTS retreat at Incarnation Church.
